Life After the Grab

There is an after.

Firefighters pull people out of burning buildings. When the fire is out, nothing waits on the other side. This is the after.

The Mission

Built for the After

Life After the Grab exists for the after. It serves two people.

The One Who Makes the Grab

The firefighter who goes all the way in. Who treats this as a calling, not a t-shirt. That firefighter carries what they see, and almost no one is standing behind them. Especially not in faith.

The Family on the Other Side

When tragedy hits, there is nothing built for the people a crew just fought to save. They walk out of the worst night of their lives alone.

Life After the Grab stands in the middle and serves both, as individuals. Grounded in five principles. Faith. Strength. Honor. Discipline. Brotherhood.

What We Stand On

Five Principles

Faith

Strength

Honor

Discipline

Brotherhood

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”

Romans 12:1
The Grab

On the night of June 29th, crews from Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire on Floran Street. Three sisters. Two, four, and six years old. Trapped in a smoke-filled home.

The crew forced the door, went in, and found them near the bedrooms.

2:34

Doorway to the last child out

Every one of them came out.

That is the grab. What comes after, for the firefighters who carried them and for the children they saved, is why we exist.

We honored the crews of Rescue 1 and Truck 7 for the lives they saved on June 29th, and raised money to open a 529 account.

The morning opened with a devotional, moved into a workout, then prayer, then hours of fellowship and food.
